Polaris Trailblazer. Polaris ATV. How to replace the fuel shut off.
Час назад
A few minor tools is all that is required. Pliers, T-27 bit. Drain fuel tank, disconnect the fuel line at the shut off. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the shut off into the tank. Make sure you remove the old gasket. YOU DO NOT HAVE to remove the fresh air intake for the CVT. The fuel shut off lever is spring loaded, pull towards you to disconnect it from the shut off. Install is reverse.

      Hey, we 1st started with the Hands Free Module. That did not work. After this, it went to the dealer. I did not pull any fuses myself, even though I'm pretty good with mechincal stuff. I am not so good with electrical. They 1st started with the radio, supposivley they went after the radio. They disconnected the radio fuse, a 30 amp one??? I am not sure. They said, heres the issue. Radio. 2 days later our suv was dead again. Rear power hatch was staying lit. changed that out. anyways, story gets was longer and multiple trips back and forth.

    If it is spring tight ? What happen it dropped down? Is it easy to put everything back together and put it back up? Right now I’m scared to drop it down and I can’t put it back up.😮 also what is behind it beside a spring ? Too bad I can’t see your video process while you doing, but I might get the idea.

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1 29 дней назад

      that spring is under pressure, pushing down. Get longer screws that match the others [size and threadwise] and install them in the forward area of the valvebody, this will limit the travel downwards of it. As you only need like a 1/2" of drop to access the valve itself. When it dropped, it startled me, as I was not expecting it. I had my hand holding the body and slowly lowering it.

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1 29 дней назад

      Long screws are the answer, take your time, remove the front screws and add in the longer ones. then slowly loosen the rest. The valvebody will slowly drop down. Remember you only need a little space to clear that SL2. That spring, not sure, guess that it applies a clutch. I lost so much video on my GoPro which had everything, so I just posted this grainy video.

    Hey, good video, had to replace my alternator....It completely died, luckily I was just a block from home and coasted on battery, shop wanted $370 plus tax and also would have charged me for a new battery probably another $200 and would have needed to pay $150 for a tow truck thanks to your video I got the job done, took a few hours including running for parts in another vehicle, the battery was dead but got it replaced free under warranty and a new alternator with core trade in refund for my dead alternator....The whole job cost me just $138 .... Awesome. Thanks for the video! Saved me a ton of money! @@stumpr1 Yeah, got $40 towards the cost of a replacement alternator, so the job got done for less than the cost of the tow truck to the shop, which would have been necessary for sure because when the alternator died it died completely, so it would have been fully running on battery power to try to drive, which it could drive slowly around the block but that's probably it before it probably would have shut all the way down. Many things on the truck are pretty buried and take a lot of tools and time, this was surprisingly straightforward in comparison, the video was helpful, as since many things they really made difficult to get to, nice that they made this kind of thing easier to get to 😂

      @@stumpr1 By dead it was still charging and holding a charge and didn't have voltage drop issues but the cold cranking amps were up and down, which would be bad in winter because while it would crank and start up no problem, the cranking amps were down to about 500 and cold cranking amps down to 250 when warm, but in the cold it may not have turned the starter over enough to get it running, wouldn't have known the cranking amps were dropping without a battery tester, a multimeter only showed voltage which looked okay. Glad it was still under warranty when the alternator went, so everything is new. When I had to get it jumped so I could get home, I was about to replace the battery but it was the alternator plus the battery might have started to cause problems with the starter too the alternator I believe was the original though so it had a long life, a lot longer than the batteries which I change every 3 years or so. They were going to charge a lot to do the alternator change out which made me decide to look into changing it myself, some of the work I've done on the truck was a time consuming chore, but the price it would have cost to change this was worth doing a little research and getting some tools together and doing it myself 👍

Where the wire harness goes into the cluster, top area of dash, that wire harness does a 90 degree bend DOWNWARDS and plugs into top part of the cluster. Give the dash a few bangs just above the speedo and see if anything flickers on. These are also know for poor connections at the top. if it flickers on and off, cluster needs to be repaired. As all engines and MFG's are different, these all may route the cords in various places depending on engine size, make, models, etc. MOST engines use a element type heater that heats the coolant. Now, with my Toyota Matrix, the engine heater is on the back side, closest to the firewall. The best I can tell you is, route the cord loosely from the frt of the car. Keep the cord away from all moving parts and hot areas. I will try to post a video of mine over the weekend, see how it turns out. let's start there. Also, what is your vehicle? Stumpr1

    You just saved me, I bought a loaded wheel knuckle/hub so I didn't have home press bearings (again). This accent is new to me but I had the sport hatch before same year.... I open up drivers side wheel well. No sensor, i was so confused. Ok I get it now maybe the sensor I have will work on the other side or send it back.

    So should I leave my newly installed arrestors on? They only helped for a few weeks.

      Great question, they will not hurt anything to leave them on. So, either way is ok. On or Off. Stumpr1

      Just to lower the flow/pressure down a little.

    Looks like fun. I wish I could drift my Nitro like that with the ESP turned off but it still makes the ABS kick in. It was great when a wheel sensor went out on me which knocked out everything including my cruise control

      Glennie, this was a riot! I laughed the whole time, 6 laps. [i think] Glancing at the tach and speedo, 7K and 100KPH and sliding slideways. This is our son's buddy and he offered to take me out. Stumpr1

    Just wanted to thank you for your informative video, I too didn't have a 38mm deep socket but was waiting on Amazon to deliver one to me, but I tried your ingenious idea of 2 crescent wrenches used together and Lo and Behold it took a little mfmmh but it broke loose and it was smooth sailing from there. One thing I did note was the Part Time indicator light on the dash doesn't illuminate, although it engages and disengages into and out 4wd fine.

    • @stumpr1

      Have done a number of wheel bearings in my time, all types of vehicles. Usually they growl and get louder as speeds increase or when under load -left/right turns [loading and unloading of the bearing] But this one was different, got it done and car was quiet right afterwards. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers! Stumpr1
